I love it. Great stuff.
just promise us this...if Utah does win...despite all of these obstacles...can you finally just credit them.

Last year, volumes were written about having to replace Wilson, Booker and Covey. That the UU offense was going to be pedestrian. It still was...but it was enough to win. As usual. Despite a new QB, true frosh RB, young WR corps etc.

That's been the UU argument for years. The offense couldn't be any worse. This year, under a new offensive system, it's as much of an advantage as it is a disadvantage.

Part of the unspoken element was that KS knew ARod's offense down to a T. Credit KS took advantage and called a great game.

UU was only able to move the ball by bullying their way at the LOS in the 4th quarter for one key drive. That won't happen this year. But all that really gave us was a field goal. Most of BYU's offense came from big Taysom runs...that won't be there either.

I think this comes down to 2 key variables. Mangum's ability to capitalize on an inexperienced secondary. Utah's execution with the new offense.
BYU fans will automatically presume the first point as a huge advantage. Tanner will move the ball and Utah will play it safe and keep everything in front of them. The challenge will be getting into the end zone.

Utah has enough play makers in the offense that 2-3 big plays can be all the difference. So execution doesn't have to be crisp.

I like BYU's chances, but I wouldn't say guarantee. In fact, if there's one thing I'd guarantee it's that BYU fans will be surprised, again, how talented Utah is.
