to know who Sean Smith is, then you know that CB isn't just another position at Utah. I think BYU fans make a huge mistake when they presume UU's NFL pipeline as flashes in the pan only to be replaced by 2* MW caliber players.
I think it's strange to think a school known for developing less-heralded talent into top shelf DBs, is suddenly going to step backward with more talent. It's possible, but not likely. Sure, an inexperienced group will make mistakes. Although Hughes, Hobbs and Blackmon have all played quite a bit. Against some great players. I wouldn't put too much stock in "starts". At least not for those 3.
Boobie will play a lot IMO. I don't think Utah is worried about the run game, and will let the front 6 take care of that. Allowing a 5th DB in the nickel.
Like you said, mistakes will happen. Especially early on. But they'll game plan for that. And BYU doesn't have the type of skill players that can make you pay 6 points for a mistake. As we've seen over the last decade in HWs. To me, that's the difference. If one of Utah's skilled players gets behind BYU, it can be lights out.
I like Trinnaman but haven't seen enough from the rest of the group to concede any game-deciding mis matches in Utah's secondary vs. BYU's WR.
