If BYU doesn’t have the guts to fire Ty after one bad year then I don’t know what stronger message can be sent than a demotion from being OC to having someone take over with title of passing game coordinator.

If I were Ty I’d welcome some help on offense because it’s miserable and humiliating to be as bad as we’ve been.

If I’m an offensive coach looking for a promotion, why not buy low now on BYU?
It’s not like we’ve been down for decades, we’ve been down one year. We have enough offensive talent on the roster to make a bowl game.
Come in, take over partly from a knowledgeable but fatally flawed OC, where you’re guaranteed to exceed expectations, and move on up after a year or two?

Granted, this won’t fix the bigger problem of lack of effort/ focus/ discipline, but that’s another topic.
