BYU will never
have the athleticism at WR to be effective in a pass-heavy offense. We need to run at least 50% of the time and run well enough to set up the pass.

This is not the 1980s. Defenses have evolved. Reffing has evolved and defensive holding is almost never called. It is impossible to pass effectively with a bevy of slow possession receivers--they just jammed at the line and the QB gets sacked. It is necessary to have 2 game-breakers on the field at all times to have a semi-decent passing game. You need that plus a strong ground game and a great TE to be really good.
