It is naive to think that BYU can run a "P5-level" program without committing greater financial resources to the coaching staff. I, for one, could care less where the money comes from. If the BOT doesn't want to commit BYU to spending that money, fine. Let the boosters/donors do it. But, don't talk about wanting to be P5 and then refuse to financially commit to being P5.
BYU has a difficult enough task in getting good coaches to come to BYU. BYU doesn't need to tie its hand behind its back by refusing to allow donors to step up when they want or need to.
