In order to get somone with p5 experience, byu has to be able to 1-offer him a promotion that his school isn't offering and 2- be in range or likely give him a raise.
I bet byu is paying him slightly more than 550k lsu was, and they are giving him the oc title that he can use on his resume for his next job.
He's not a long term coach at byu. 2-3 years.
It's a risk because he's not done it before and he isn't long term. But he's great at developing NFL talent and he's been successful at his job at the highest levels of college football. So I guess we'll see if he can be oc. If he's good, he gone.
And byu will have to come up with a different plan.
