True story: I was there
In 1984, during the national championship season. Home game against San Diego State. Guy giving the opening prayer over the stadium PA says:
"Father, bless the Aztecs, that they may play to their potential and be free from injury. And now Father, we ask thee to particularly bless, our beloved, nationally ranked Cougars."
I unbow my head, look up and around. Several other guys have the same expression: "Did he just . . ? Did I hear that right?"
That was the purest moment establishing in my mind why ALUFs hate us.
