kids' writing is less then adequate. Spellcheck doesn't catch usage, witch means that we often spell words the way we here them. I realize that this is a usage thing, accept I think that spelling often has something to do with weather kids use words correctly because we often define the words, to, when we send out spelling lists.

I can barely bare to read some of the stuff I sea these days. It makes me want to take a brake from reading. At the vary least, it's difficult to complement writers on they're work, especially if ewe try to read it allowed. It's the principal of the matter, if you ask me.

At the vary least, we need good writer's and reader's in our society. So I think that spelling and usage are absolutely important and have a positive affect.
