I just looked at this again
I had forgot that it actually recommends a first week of walking for 20 minutes, followed by a second week of walking for 30 minutes. This is intended to start strengthening the muscles in the legs in preparation of the upcoming running stages. I always just skipped to running because I never felt like I was in that bad of running shape, but it might be something to consider.
