RE: And yet there line play has been better since he left
The DL has been better because the players have been better...as a whole, the defense has better athletes all around, that’s my opinion-and def an issue that we have at BYU

What's the cause of DL problems at BYU?
chodilicus
11/20/19 3:35pm
Climate change.

Is there a graph showing that or something?

Utah gets most of the good LDS DL
Huge Manatee

Maybe Utah and BYU should combine forces
Pro Logic

The problem: Every player at BYU could probably survive at Utah. It does not

Wait...Tafua couldn't handle BYU? I've never heard anything but that he elected to transfer to play football at the U.

Rumor is he didn’t want to work hard in class
puntersarepeople
11/20/19 7:26pm
If it's just a rumor, I'd prefer not to promulgate that across CB. Doesn't seem like it would do anybody any good.
SingleStrapBackpack
11/20/19 7:51pm
I'm not saying he was booted or even did anything wrong at all
chodilicus
11/21/19 6:07pm
lol Tafua got home and the coaches who recruited him were gone.

11/20/19 5:50pm
If Tooley could get to 265 . . .
puntersarepeople
11/20/19 7:27pm
Wasn't Buck listed at 6'5/6'6?
Lip Gallagher
11/20/19 8:09pm
I'd rather see Tooley at 240-245 and playing OLB in a 3-4 where he can rush
cougaman
11/20/19 10:09pm
My point is that BYU needs speed DEs and they could be 240
chodilicus
11/21/19 6:10pm
Or just go to a 3-4 where these guys can play a more natural position at OLB.
cougaman
11/21/19 6:29pm
True. A 240 pound Tooley would be sweet

Not true. All starting DL's at U are 3 star recruits. BYU has

Seemed to coach D lineman ok when he was with the ewets. Must have forgot how?
basman

He only coached the yewt DL 2 years so it's hard to attribute too much to him.
JollyGreenGiant
11/20/19 3:50pm
If that's true, then how much impact does a coach even have?

You think Idaho State has better talent than BYU

Part of it has to do with the fact that BYU hadn't run a 4-3 defense since 2002.
