is dead on. Not sure if anyone has read Strong father Strong daughter but it is excellent. One of the most sobering subjects is how girls view themselves in correlation to what they hear their parents discuss. No surprise, parents that use predominantly compliments on the way their daughters look influence them to value those attributes most. Similarly if the parents constantly worry out loud about their weight and looks, those things contribute to how a girl judges to gauge how to feel about herself. These feeling contribute to anorexia and low self worth as well as romantic relationships that are based on fulfilling the wrong needs.
Not a blanket argument against plastic surgery but one to think about. If mom is tucking it and expanding it everywhere and spending lots of money to do it, that might communicate an unintended message about the way her daughters should look or to her boy, the way their future wife should look.
