Maybe Bronco had it worse, which makes his attitude even more impressive. Maybe at the end of the day, KW is a small man for acting the way he does.
But I also think Bronco is getting a few passes from the fans during this love fest. He’s made no secret of the fact that he took VA job fully expecting them to remove upcoming BYU games from the schedule. While not using the exact words, he’s basically gone on to say that once he accepted that he couldn’t get the powers that be to drop the games, he figured he better just suck it up and deal with it. Heck, it sounds like he’d still kill the games if he could. Maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s pretty small that on you’re way out of Provo, you try and kill multiple P5 games on BYU’s schedule. Mind you, this was when P5 was still a pipe dream and Bronco knows dang well how important these type of games are for BYU. Especially the ones that can be scheduled this late in the season. I’m not sure how much of what Bronco is saying is sincere and how much of it is him just grinning and bearing it for the week so he can get out of town without ruffling any feathers.
All I can speak to is the interactions I’ve had with KW and I’ve had enough of them to think of him as a good man. I absolutely wish it was different but at the end of the day, I don’t think a guy not having a good relationship with his alma mater is the barometer of whether or not he’s a good person.
