He is a great person and someone I would love to have my kids play for.

I admit he is a bit socially awkward and some of that comes probably from a bit of paranoia. He is a bit weird in some ways as well. He never trusted the media.

Talk to his former players. They LOVED him. Many said they would run through a brick wall for him.

We all have quirks. His quirks just presented themselves differently than many of us would like.

I’m grateful for what he did for the program. He wasn’t a BYU guy before but represented BYU well while here. It’s sad that many use his personality as a reason to hate him.

He’s a good man and BYU is better for having him coach for those 11 years.
