First of all
I commend you for not resorting to name calling. I do have a question. The last 8 Milankovitch cycles (100K years each) have put Florida under 5 meters of water. Why not this one? Sea level rise during this Milankovitch cycle is considerably less than the last 8. I've asked this of several established climate scientists and never received a coherent response. I believe discussing recent climate trends without putting them in the context of Milankovitch cyclicity is wholly inadequate.

Also, I make much simpler earth models every day at work and we are rarely very precise. What is your confidence level in climate models that are extremely complex and will have to wait several decades to test their accuracy?

And just a thought for everyone else... Having received a M.S degree in a closely related field, and having published on climate variation in the geologic past, I offer my opinion that scientists opinions on this subject are influenced by their political leanings. I know mine are. I've worked with earth scientists my whole life and the conservative ones (most of whom went into private industry) believe there is a very small anthropogenic influence while the liberal ones (most of whom entered academia) believe it is largely due to humans.

It is a complicated issue with smart people on both sides. So I feel when either side uses absolutes and precise predictions, they are not even close to capturing the uncertainty that exist and in some cases being irresponsible.
