I think the key issue here is separating the earth as a whole from individual

systems within the earth, like the ocean. The fingerprints I explained all point to warming caused by human greenhouse gas emissions. We have documented from observation that the oceans are warming. What exactly that heat is doing within the earth and why it has recently been going to the oceans is a more difficult question to answer.
