While Bronco was very good at getting a lot out of his teams collectively, the development of individual players seems lacking. Contrast that to UU and USU, both of which were able to find diamonds in the rough and develop them into NFL talent. Some of this has to do with Bronco's view on the NFL. Although I understand his perspective, it ignores reality. Recruits care about the NFL and want to develop into stars. Most won't be stars, but it's ok to actively support that dream and allow players to shine individually (in addition to the team).
Kalani needs more time to prove his abilities in this department. But he has a track record in previous coaching positions in developing players into stars on the field and has also made clear that he encourages NFL aspirations. I'm hopeful we'll see a change in this regard, which will also positive impact recruiting.
