I don't know, the rest of his career was spent as on OC at various schools...
...including LSU when they won a National Championship in 2008. as far as his HC record shows he has .566 winning pct with an overall record of 47-36, he had a winning record for both BYU and LaTech. Now, if you want to say he didn't handle the pressure of following a legendary coach very well I can agree with that. I think the pressure to win (especially after his impressive first season) was too much and things kind of got away from him.
It's interesting but had Matt Payne been 6 inches more to the right with that FG kick in 2004 against Boise and we won to finish 6-5 against a really REALLY tough strength of schedule (#11 that year according to Sagarin) would Crowton have saved his job for another year?
