What I don’t understand is that it can be pretty clear for something like this
with pretty obvious symptoms and a relatively short cycle of infection to recovery.
If everyone is using it you don’t need a clinical trial. That many doctors are not stupid.
The clinical study idea is pretty dumb at this point if doctors already believe it works. It is a cheap drug and has little side effects. Who would volunteer to be the placebo if you have this virus? It’s not some revolutionary treatment for cancer. You take the drug.

You are grossly overestimating the number of doctors that believe it works. Most hope it will or believe it might.
