There are a few different ways it could cause harm. Right now we have a shortage because of increased demand
so those who need the medication for their rheumatologic issues are having trouble finding it.
Another potential harm is being too quick to accept this as treatment and not investing the time and energy into exploring actual antiviral medications that, frankly, are much more likely to work.

You are grossly overestimating the number of doctors that believe it works. Most hope it will or believe it might.
