I have no faith that our government could actually reduce that U.S. number
if we allow the government to run health care. I anticipate the U.S. GDP percentage would stay the same or grow and the overall level of U.S. healthcare would plummet.
Some changes that could help significantly decrease costs right now:
1) require point-of-sale/treatment published pricing for medical services, products and pharmaceuticals, including the Medicare-negotiated pricing;
2) allow consumers to buy prescription drugs from other countries
3) health insurance must be non-profit
