It was a long time ago when I did the analysis, but a lot of the difference in longevity went away
Once you measure life expectancy at age 65, rather than at birth. In other words, stuff is killing Americans more often when they are younger compared to some of the other developed nations (one of which was the UK) and that is doing more to depress their life expectancy than when they're older.

Homicide/suicide is definitely part of this and it's questionable how much healthcare has to do with that.
