I like 8.
Tough to argue you should have a shot beyond the top 8. Currently it's a coin flip who really deserves spots 3 & 4.
Obviously there are only 2 weeks burned for the playoffs currently (semifinal and finals games). There'd be 4 weeks with a 12 team field. These are still students, at least technically. So I'd lean 8 w/ 3 weeks.
