Everybody should at least have a fair shot
As much as I hate the Utes they went undefeated twice and didn't even get a shot at the title. Same goes for a TCU and Boise. Cincinnati only got in the 4 team playoff last year as a G5 because they were also undefeated the year before and several P5 teams had two or more losses. This exclusionary attitude just because you think the game will be blowout is ridiculous. College Football is the only sport in America where you can win every game and still not be given a shot at the title. That's not right.
