Wait, you say
That we are comparing Duncan to Malone. If so, Malone won the WCF THREE times. Not two. To say two would be comparing Duncan to the Jazz.

Let's put it this way, Malone took the Jazz to the finals twice with Greg Ostertag at C. If that doesn't say GOAT PF I don't know what does.

You are also completely off regarding the Jazz not playing great laker teams because they missed the playoffs. Malone led the Jazz to the post season 18 of 19 tries. The only miss being his rookie outing when the Jazz didn't even know what they had yet.

Tim and Karl are so similar in work ethic and stats. Stats-wise Karl holds the edge and of course Timmy owns the rings. But what does jewelry have to do with assembling an all star team? You think if LeBron is building another Miami Heat he would take Tony Parker over Steph Curry because of the bling?

Also take a look at what Karl did with the lakers. In the games he wasn't injured the lakers were .820. With Karl sidelined they were .500. Look at what a gimpy Malone with a blown up knee did to KG in the WCF that year also. And that was KG in prime.

Karl had to field Olajuwan, Mutumbo, Shaquille, Barkley, Robinson, Kemp, KG on offense and defense with little help from bigs. Duncan hasn't had that kind of comptetion at the 4/5.

The other problem is the longer Duncan plays the more his stats will be diluted with less efficient seasons. Much like Malone's last season where he took on a 'Role Player/Mentor' role with the lakers.
