There has been some Fijian (Melansian) mixing with Tongans because of their close proximity, and ofcourse all of the groups have *some* heritage shared with Europeans, hence all the Euro-sounding names.
Wolfgramm, Johansson, Garrigan, Scanlon, etc.
A point of trivia: When Cook came "discovering" the islands, he was going westbound, and so he got to Tonga before he reached Fiji.
The "Fijians" have a different word for their islands, but the Tongans got to name them (from an outsider persective) because the Tongan name is "Fisi", which got changed to Fiji.
