IMO they all share a LOT of heritage, DNA, etc...
...but there are some differences between the groups.

There has been some Fijian (Melansian) mixing with Tongans because of their close proximity, and ofcourse all of the groups have *some* heritage shared with Europeans, hence all the Euro-sounding names.

Wolfgramm, Johansson, Garrigan, Scanlon, etc.

A point of trivia: When Cook came "discovering" the islands, he was going westbound, and so he got to Tonga before he reached Fiji.

The "Fijians" have a different word for their islands, but the Tongans got to name them (from an outsider persective) because the Tongan name is "Fisi", which got changed to Fiji.
