I know insurance companies try to low ball doctors on contract rates, but I didn't think by that much. He is charging me over double what the insurance contracted rate is. I'm sure fair rate is somewhere between the two, but almost 1k for taking 5 minutes to put in 3 stitches seems a bit extreme to me.
