his charge is not by time. its by procedure. he charges for the visit and for
the size and depth of the laceration. and he won't get paid that whole amount.

the next kid who comes in with a laceration probably has meth head parents with no insurance and the kid will get infected and the doc will be dealing with it for 3 months and get zero dollars for the whole thing.

best way to look at it, imo, is that your kid is healed up and all went well and you've got insurance to help.
