I think it was more the lack of offensive identity mixed with the merry-go-round
at QB and the Swiss cheese offensive line.
They recruited guys with lots of stars (e.g., Heaps, Munns, Lark), but they were either grossly overrated or they didn't fit the system. Things were starting to come together when Bronco left for Virginia. He left Kalani a lot of talent on offense and defense.
