If I felt there is danger I wouldn't let the person in.
I have a pretty high bar for what I consider dangerous. I have a legit home security system and both my wife and I have multiple guns around the house.
I'm not saying it's not smart to meet the person first--but if the missionaries call in a pinch then I'll take the risk almost every time.
