My two wishes for BYU, the institution.
(1) Get rid of the enforcement of the honor code by the school. It can work like it does at the many other academic institutions with "honor codes" in that adherence is on the honor of the student. Infractions and should be handled by bishops who we believe are called by God to handle stuff like this. Keep private stuff like this out of the hands of bureaucrats.

(2) Accept more kids. I know this is a harder issue to pull off, but the church can and should make it work. Use the SLC Center more? Increase class sizes? I don't know the solution, but in an era where we are trying to keep kids close to the church, I think we should try our best to let them come to the Y, especially if they actively want to be there.

I wasn't a BYU kid out of high school. I thought I'd hate the place. After a mission, I decided to go in spite of the fact that I didn't really love the school, and basically because I wanted to go to BYU sports which I grew up loving.

I legitimately had a great time there and it changed the trajectory of my life. It's a great place. I want more kids to experience it.
