Steve's wife was just put in as mayor of Provo, so my take is

that this was Steve's decision (pure speculation) as his wife now has a demanding job that will provide the family with benefits, etc. Steve and his family have been, are and will continue to be great for BYU and the football program. Rather than assuming this was Kalani pushing Steve out, let's celebrate all that Steve and his family have given to BYU. Thank you, Steve - you've been a significant part of BYU football and leave a great legacy!
