It would not surprise me if he did just what you said. His wife is not...
...going to be able to leave Provo if he has to go across the country to find a new coaching job. BYU may be weird in some of the way they do things but it wouldn’t be the first time that they found another position for a loyal, long time employee who was willing to stay with them in another capacity. That’s what they did for Bosco when he was let go as QBC.
