He now knows that one of his employees is unhappy about their compensation. He's likely to look at how much value she brings to the company and/or how replaceable she is. Either he'll do that analysis or one of his underlings.

All the other stuff about her marital status doesn't matter one iota. Companies aren't in the business of giving jobs to whoever needs it the most.
