I received my pay stub and my gross pay was too high by about $38 dollars. Being a good little Junior Accountant schooled in the importance of payroll controls, I immediately contacted our HR department to inform them of the discrepancy. I was informed that the excess was my prorated bonus for the year...........Had I been there a full year instead of just 5 months, it would have been a cool $84!!!!!!!!

This was 1999. In case you young'ns out there were wondering, $84 was still not a lot of money.
