The thing is, he isn’t sticking it to the man. The only person losing here is him. He’ll end up paying the fee in the
end. They have no reason to waive it.

I also resent the idea that this is sticking it to the man. He entered into that loan agreement consensually. They afforded him the opportunity to purchase a home that he couldn’t have otherwise acquired at the time. He agreed to pay back the principal, interest, and fees when he signed his mortgage docs.

The mortgage company isn’t “the man.” They’re just expecting him to uphold his part of the agreement the way they held up theirs. Pay the friggin fee...you owe it.
