Depends rate son a 30 year right now are about 5%. Hard to find a guaranteed
Investment at that rate. Sure riskier investment can have higher returns but there’s a risk. His mortgage rate is probably lower than 5% but still a good portfolio investmnet protfolio(especially for someone like him nearing retirement) has risk and safe investments. And this is a better rate of return than buying us bonds. (Why do people buy bonds if there’s always a better investment out there?)
