He had a great year, and great all star game....
I've always thought he was an excellent athlete. Is he open to playing another position because it does seem that is what schools are wanting him to do? He's the type of athlete that can do it.

As for the 4.7 I don't think most people realize how fast that actually is. We always hear people throwing out these 4.4 and 4.5 40 times as if that is common when the truth is it isn't common at all. Not even 4.5's let alone 4.4's. I am always skeptical when people say they run a 4.5 because very few actually do.

For instance I looked up the average 40 yd time for NFL WR's and DB's, the fastest players in the NFL play those positions. Well the average 40 yd time for NFL WR's and DB's is 4.55. That means approximately half of the wr's and db's in the NFL run slower than a 4.55 40.

By comparison Chase Roberts runs a 4.7 40 and he is considered fast. Most of the feedback I've gotten from coaches is that qb's 40 times are basically 2/10's faster for their evaluation purposes than the actual time they run. Meaning they would consider a 4.7 for a QB to be the equivalent of a 4.5 for any other player at any other position. This is because all a QB really needs to do most of the time is escape and buy time and when they do run it is generally because the play has broken down and they are just wide open so they have a huge advantage with a head start.

Any congratulations to him on a great year and that he has college options regardless of whether they are going to be at QB or at another position. Most kids will never have any of that so it is a big deal.
