He’s obviously a great athlete and competitor but
4.74 is on the slow side for a DB. It’s great for a QB, but is he going to play QB? It sounds like he really needs to if that’s his legit 49 time unless he moves to LB. He could probably play strong safety. That 4.74 is almost 4.8. Now some guys play faster in games with adrenaline going than they do in a timed sprint so he may be faster on the field (gamer).

I agree with you 100% in the 40 times and the 4.5s that are thrown around. Anybody who has seen a legit 4.5 40 run knows those guys are elite. It’s sprinter speed. Think Taysom Hill. Not many can truly run that fast. Taysom was quoted as being the fastest in the Saints team.

My bro ran a 4.5 40 and was basically unbeatable in track in the 100 and 200. I think the only race he lost in HS was to Tyler Anderson when my bro was a soph and Anderson was a senior.

Also Chase Roberts has been officially timed at a Nike combine at 4.6 in the 40 and if you ever seen him play he usually looked like the fastest guy on the field. He regularly outran his DB and at his size and his ability to catch the ball is what has many excited about him.

I would love to have Legas at BYU because he is a winner an athlete and a true competitor. I think he would play and contribute somewhere but with Conover coming I’m just not sure it’s at QB. If UCLA will play him at QB I’d jump on that or go to Utah State with Gary Anderson if they will play him at QB if that’s what he really wants. I think BYU is being honest with him about the situation. Hopefully he understands and doesn’t sour in BYU because they are choosing Conover and i have to worry a little that these other schools are telling him what he wants to hear to get him there as an athlete but in the end he will end up playing safety for them too like Chase Hansen at Utah. Not a bad thing but he could do that at the Y. Remember how good Chase was in High school at QB? He wanted to play QB in college and Utah said they would give him a shot at it where BYU said he would play safety. Well where did he end up? These college coaches know what’s up. BYU was honest and Many feel Utah told him what he wanted to hear to get him there and even gave him a shot at QB knowing full well he wouldn’t end up playing that position. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to Legas.
