That started our discussion and found very very little research that demonstrates at least a hint of your position.
What I have found is research demonstrates MJ impact on teens( developing brains) and impacts on people with already existing schizophrenia and in Teens with 1 particular gene that predisposes them to Schizonphrenia (COMT).
Thats it. A super small population and a developmental period.
The research which demonstrates addiction likewise has limitations on it and produces addiction less than pretty much all of the other substances normally discussed, opiods, alcohol, nicotine, etc.
Mj addiction is accoeding to seversl studies ZERO after the age of 25.
It is in teens ,however at a rate of 1 in 9 according to 1 study) ,unlike all of the others it takes much longer and more use before it becomes habitually addictive even in those populations.
So to sum up. There is no evidence that mj is addictive in adults(non teens)
Mj can induce psychosis in
1 very select group of teens with a particular gene that already predisposes them to develiping schizophrenia
MJ can induce an episode in people who already are schizophrenic.
Perhaps what you thought comes from these studies that have been cited or referenced in articles and extrapolated to the "General Public".
At this juncture I would ask you to re examine your own beliefs and look through the research critically.
I took your challenge and this what i found. .i obviously haven't read everything,so it is possible there is research that i missed that at some point you read that helped to develope your position.
As it stands it looks like mj can be bad for teens and for those with or predisposed to develope schizophrenia
With that i would gladly support keeping mj illegal until 21 and suggest people get gene mapping done..
