You have it reversed. It is not a 95% proof that MJ doesn’t cause cancer

It is a failure to find to a 95% probability that it DOES cause cancer.

In other words it could be 80% likely that it does cause cancer but the result of the study will still be “no link” because it isn’t proven to the study’s p level of 95.
