I suppose so. But whenever I go to a place like San Diego or San Antonio
and ask the locals for the best and most authentic Mexican food restaurant, I always get sent to a place that tastes just like all the others.

San Diego/Cali mex is great but it's not true Mexican. Neither is Tex-Mex. Luckily I love all three types

In the US I think you're right. I do prefer Ameri/Cali/Tex ified versions to "authentic" here. Real stuff in Mexico city
