If you graduate with a PhD in a STEM research field, why would you go to BYU-I?

This is apples to apples. I didn't go to Harvard or something. We are not talking top 1%. I'm saying that the vast majority of PhD grads will look at BYU-Idaho as a stepping stone to nowhere. It is extremely niche. You don't get a PhD in chemistry because you love teaching intro to chemistry.
