we be better off using it as an example to open the dialogue and really try to figure out the root causes behind it. Show how much pain the suicide has caused those left behind. Help others see the warning signs in people around them. Maybe those who are struggling would say "hey, I'm going through similar things that John did - maybe I should get help before I do something like he did and cause all this subsequent pain to people around me."
I know sometimes there can be a "suicide contagion" where one suicide can trigger other people to think it's the only way out. So maybe it's for the best to not talk about it and simply say "John died unexpectedly."
Curious what people's thoughts are. Is it better to talk about it more or less?
