our community tried to keep it quiet...
When the southwest valley of SL County (Utah) had a handful of youth suicides the local community and school district did a 'hush job' of the events. It wasn't until the numbers started to grow that the community started talking about it.

In total, we had over 9 suicides of school-aged kids in early 2018. The number is much higher when you start adding in the 18 - 25 age groups that never get talked about.

IMHO its something that needs to be talked about... Society needs to have the framework in place to help these kids. Parents need to know that kids will hide their true feelings (It's heartbreaking to hear your neighbors say "If only we had known.. we had no idea he was suffering")

Kids need to know help is available. That their world is not as small as it seems. Hopelessness is something nobody should feel.

Society has created this problem... Society needs to solve this problem.
