If my son committed suicide, I'd want him to be remembered for who he was, not how he died. Unfortunately it's very difficult for us to not attach the facts of how a young person died to who they are. That we avoid talking about those details probably speaks to this idea. We dont want to remember this individual as "The kid that killed himself".
