I can agree — though we'll see what happens with Jaime's story in the next book.
The issue is that the TV series left the books long ago — the TV show is a similar but different story. Based on what has happened on the TV show, Jaime's ending fits.

They made certain story lines and character's arc's meaningless, arc's and story lines that had been built for years.
