found I will not workout if I'm not working toward a race. So I try to do 1 Ironman and 1 standalone marathon every year. As soon as one is finished, I just start the training program for the next one. This usually means I'm working out 6 days a week, for about an hour. In a large training block, it can be much more. Get it all done before 7am or so.
But truly, it's all about stress relief for me. Since I've been doing it, I just don't get stressed at work anymore.
