I certainly don’t disagree that the transition was inspired.

But I didn’t read anything suggesting that dropping sports was. Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn’t. Either way, it was a huge blow for those of us who loved Ricks sports. It cut my college athletic career short and I am still bummed about it. Most here would be devastated if BYU sports were dropped and would find little solace in stories suggesting it was inspired.
