posted is 100% inaccurate. BYU’s “Big” demand was no Sunday play.
There were no other current schools that could bring enough to the table to move to 12 or 14 schools. BYU was the lone gem available.
When the Big-12 received the votes to remain at ten schools and still have the same benefits as other P5 schools, it was a no brained to not expand.
During their expansion discussions they were also asking for straw votes to see if they would have enough votes to stay at ten or would have to expand.
