We currently have two very capable kickers on the roster (something that many teams lack), and another one on a mission which will overlap the existing K's we have.
BYU would not give a tryout because they don't need another Kicker when they could use that roster spot for another position that has a greater need.
It really has nothing to do with Kade, nor his ability. It has much more to do about timing and depth.
If you look at Utah's roster right now, they just lost both K & P, so the competition is wide open and they'd be dumb not to at least look.
